History of UGA Kappa Delta House

The Sigma Phi house is a sorority house unlike any other!
The house is comprised of eighteen furnished apartments that
enclose a beautiful courtyard where KD's eat dinner, study,
lay out, and just relax and enjoy each others company.
When walking under the columns of the main house and
entering the front doors, you find yourself in the foyer.
The spacious formal living room is on the right and the
kitchen and formal dining room are on the left. KD's gather
here every night at 5 o'clock to eat dinner together and
chat about the events of the day. Downstairs is a large
room with an area where sisters paint our award winning
banners, a workout area complete with treadmills for late
night jogs, and a newly furnished living area where sisters
can pile up to catch their favorite television shows. The
chapter room is located on the second floor. This is where
all 200 sisters meet every Monday at 5:45 to discuss
upcoming events and socialize. The second floor also has a
large study area with comfy couches, large tables, and a new
computer where KD's study hard so that KD can continue its
tradition of academic excellence.
The living areas of the house are composed of two and
four girl apartments. The apartments contain a large living
room, full kitchen, two bedrooms, and a full bathroom. Each
fall the house fills with sophomores eager to escape the
dorms and decorate their new apartments! Over 50 girls call
the KD House their home and the year that each member spends
in the house is undoubtedly one of the most memorable of
their time at the University of Georgia!
