Recruitment is an very important part of being a Kappa Delta. We look to find the most outstanding young women to join our sisterhood. Last year we recruited 62 amazing new girls to our sorority! This was more than any other sorority on campus!! We also are always competing for the highest rates of returns per round for Potential New Members (PNM) during Recruitment. We are also very proud to say that we are fourth out of the eighteen Panhellenic sororities at UGA in overall GPA this semester! Our sisters are seen everywhere on campus and are highly involved in university activities. We have sisters that are both football and basketball cheerleaders, Georgettes, on the volleyball team, the equestrian team, UGA Homecoming Court, Orientation Leaders, participate in the UGA Student Government, The Arch Society, the UGA Honors program, a Ramsey Scholar, and many, many other honor societies and on campus organizations!!
Recruitment begins several days before school begins in August. The first two days of Recruitment are Round One, in which each girl has an opportunity to visit each sorority house. This round is nice casual and is an introduction to the sisterhood of each house. The third day of Recruitment is Round Two, House Tours. During this round each girl goes to only 12 houses. This round is a more in depth look at the personality of each sorority and a look at their beautiful house! Make sure to check out ours under the History section of the website!! Round Three is skit round, in which each girl goes to only 6 houses to watch a skit performed by the sisters. This round is so much fun for both the sisters and the Potential New Members! This round allows the PNM to see a fun and laid back side of the sisterhood. The last day of Recruitment is the Preference Round. On this day, each PNM goes to three houses. This is a very serious day and the ceremonies are almost always highly emotional (so bring some tissue!). This is the day on which the sisters of the sorority show the PNMs just how much they want them to become a part of their sorority. After Preference, the PNMs sign their bid cards after making the tough decision of which sorority they want to become a part of!! The next day after the girls find out what sorority they are in it is time for celebration! Bid Day parties are a great tradition at UGA. Last year we a garden party theme and we had a band in our courtyard, it was so much fun and a great chance for the New Members to meet all the older sisters!
We are already hard at work getting ready for Recruitment 2006 and we are so excited!!!
