ance Marathon is a 24-hour dance marathon that raises money for the Children's Miracle Network, which directly benefits Georgia's own Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and Egleston. This past February was the ninth year that the University of Georgia has held this event, and it is the largest student-run philanthropy in the Southeast.

Dance Marathon originated in 1973 at Penn State University. Over the past 30 years, they have raised over $20 million dollars for the Four Diamonds Fund at the Hershey Medical Center. Today, 18 other top schools support Dance Marathon and the Children's Miracle Network, including the wonderful University of Georgia!

This year, the students at the University of Georgia successfully raised over $214,000 for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The Sigma Phi Kappa Delta's raised over $7,000 serving as a Champion Level Sponser. The Kappa Delta's spent the night dancing away, eating, listening to music, hearing stories of the miracle kids, playing numerous games, and much more!

The Dance Marathon Office is located at 222 Memorial Hall Athens, GA 30605. If you have any questions, you can reach the office at (706) 542-7962 or send an email to Ward@uga.edu.
