appa Deltas have always loved working with the girl scouts and serving as role models for these young women. In the fall of 2003, we had a holiday party with the girl scouts, at the KD house. We helped the girls to make different crafts, like little sock snowmen and paper snowflakes. Over fifteen girl scouts along with their parents and the troop leaders joined us at the party.

In the spring, we helped our troop, Jr. Troop #2072, with their annual girl scout cookie sale. KD showed our support by making orders and buying cookies from the troop. Many of the girl scouts came over along with some parents, troop
leaders, and the cookie chairperson to deliver the cookies before one chapter meeting. Our troop was the top cookie seller thanks to our support!

On Sunday April 18th, 2004, we invited our troop over for an etiquette workshop followed by a spring party with crafts and snacks. During the workshop we discussed proper introductory skills as well as table manners. The girl scouts seemed to enjoy the helpful tips. Afterwards, we went out to the courtyard and the girls painted flower pots and then planted flowers in them. Both the girl scouts and the KD's had a wonderful time! We look forward to holding more events with our troop in the future.

One more possible event: 5k road race held May 31st to benefit Girl Scouts. Event is sponsored by the Athens-Oconee Junior Woman's Club. All the money raised will go the the Northeast Georgia Girl Scout Council. Hopefully we will be able to participate in this event.
