• Topic: Special Education
- In this meeting we saw a powerpoint presentation by a Special Education co-teacher and also learned about the Pyramid of Interventions currently used in Georgia schools. Both are available for download by clicking on them here:

General Meeting #3
• Topic: School Resources
- In this meeting we had a panel of three speakers:
- Mrs. Scott, Vice Principal at Timothy Rd Elementary, who shared with us the many available administrative resources schools offer, as well as the importance of having a mentor your first year of teaching and an orientation to learn about your school's resources.
- Joel Fry, Technology Trainer, who explained his job role of helping teachers make use of all the technology now available in classrooms.
- Steven King, Academic Enrichment Teacher, who shared his story of how he arrived at his current position and tips like the value of good communication and asking questions. He encouraged us to make exposing children to the world our goal, and to always take advantage of opportunities.

• Member's Social
- During our Member's Social, we made a bunch of super-cute "Pillow Pals" that will be donated via Colleges against Cancer to cancer patients. Good job everyone!
- Also - Thank you everyone for the success we have had with both the book drive and the canned food drive!

Philanthropy Information: Fall 2008
- Book Drive We collected a wonderful assortment of books for the homeless shelter.
- Canned Food Drive
- Everything we gathered was contributed to the Athens Community Food Bank's First Annual "Beat Tech!" Food Drive. We beat Tech! Yay!
