Kappa Delta Epsilon

About KDE

Kappa Delta Epsilon was founded in 1933 as a sister organization of Kappa Phi Kappa, a professional educational fraternity for men.  KDE was established as a national honorary professional organization for women.  In 1978, the name of the organization was changed from sorority to society, and men were allowed into membership.

The UGA Chapter, Alpha Epsilon, was chartered on April 16, 1956.  There were thirteen original members initiated on that day at the Georgian Hotel in downtown Athens.  The Georgian Hotel is now an apartment complex and the site of Trumps Catering.  The UGA chapter is proud to welcome our newest advisor Dr. Beth Tolley.  Other advisors have been Dr. Mary K. Scott, Dr. Ila Rooks, Dr. Elizabeth Aderhold, Dr. Kay Damron-Dillard, Dr. Frank Flanders, Christina Akin, and co-advisors Dr. Stacey Neuhart-Prichett and Dr. Kyunghwa Lee.

The goals of Kappa Delta Epsilon are:
