Jenna Jambeck, assistant professor in the College of Engineering, is internationally recognized for her research on plastic waste in the ocean and for the Marine Debris Tracker app she co-created. Harvard professor to deliver Hollowell Lecture

Tomiko Brown-Nagin will deliver the fourth annual Donald L. Hollowell Lecture April 2 at 7 p.m. at the Morton Theatre, 195 W. Washington St. Brown-Nagin, the Daniel P.S. Paul Professor of Constitutional Law and a professor of history at Harvard University, will give a presentation titled “’The Civil Rights Queen’: Constance Baker Motley and the Struggle for Racial and Gender Equality in America.”

Thurmond to deliver Early Lecture
Michael L. Thurmond, the superintendent of the DeKalb County School District, will deliver the Mary Frances Early Lecture April 1 at 3 p.m. in Tate Theatre. A reception will follow. This lecture is held each year in honor of Early, the first African-American graduate from UGA.
