• Why Lambda?
  • Joinng a fraternity is a very rewarding and enjoyable experience, and joining Lambda Theta Phi is no different. Below you will find information on Lambda Theta Phi tohelpy you in deciding if this fraternity is right for you.
  • Academics:
  • As we all know, the reason we come to college is to go to class and obtain a degree. This is exacctly one of the reasons for which the Founding Fathers of Lambda Theta Phi created this fraternity. They knew that if Latinos and Non-Latinos alike wanted to do be successful in school, they would have to work together to reach this level of academic success. It is for this reason that The Fraternity places a strong emphasis on academic success for each of its members.
  • Service:
  • While academics are important, it is also beneficial to help your community. From registering and reminding citizens to vote during elections, and entertaining children and families in the Pinewoods Community, Lambda Theta Phi organizes a number of community service projects throughout the year to help better the Athens community.
  • Professional Development:
  • It is important to make the most of your college experience, and one way you can do this is by pushing yourself to excel in areas that will be beneficial to you in the working world. Lambda Theta Phi provides a number of opportunities to develop professionally and personally during your college career.
  • Every year brothers attend a number of conferences nationally, regionally, and state–wide. These conferences are beneficial for keeping up to date on that state of The Fraternity, as well as for providing an arena for development in public speaking and event organization.
  • The brothers of The Fraternity also plan a number of events throughout the year such as parties, service events, fundraisers, and cultural events. In organizing events such as these, as a result, brothers grow to develop superior networking and organizational skills that they can translate into usable skills for the workforce and beyond.
  • Brothers are also connected nation–wide with each other through our directories. If you are interested in engineering, for example, then there is always a group of Lambdas at the moment who are either studying and/or practicing in your field of interest. The same principle applies to other disciplines such as business, law, politics, and medicine. These connections are applicable to any field as we have a network of brothers that is over 3,000 strong... and still growing.
  • Brotherhood:
  • Brotherhood is the most important aspect of The Fraternity. Whith over 33,000 students attending The University of Georgia, it is easy to get lost in the crowd and become overlooked as a student. By joining Lambda Theta Phi, youwill have a network of BROTHERS, all of which share similar interests and goals as yours. But more than that, The Fraternity provides a bond that can only be compared to one that you share with an immediate relative—a brother. We are gentlement who will support you and help you as you seek to obtain your degree. If you are intrested in joining the FIRST nationally recognized fraternity in the nation then contact us at any time.
