Craig & Allie's
Ocean Page

The ocean is the largest and certainly one of the most important biomes on our planet, despite the fact that no one really lives there. Covering 70% of the earth's surface, the ocean is a complex physical and chemical system that supports an amazing variety and number of life forms, some of which are important food sources for humans. The oceans are important in determining the climate of the continents, and as integral parts of the hydrologic cycle. The future of our planet depends in many ways on the health of the oceans, which are threatened by pollution and global warming. The more we understand about the ocean, the better we may be able to avoid these kinds of future problems.
