Learning
communities are an active collaboration among several
groups seeking to enhance the overall quality of college
life of first-year students. An advisory board for
the learning communities includes members representing
academic units, the housing administration, the admissions
office, the registrar's office, and the Office of the
Vice President for Instruction. The goal of the board
is to strengthen student life by integrating their
residential and academic experiences. Members of the
