Water Quality Education

Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials (NEMO)

Nemo is a national educational program for land use decision makers that address the relationship between land use and natural resource protection, with a focus on water resources.

Georgia's program for nonpoint education for local officials (NELO) began in the coastal counties, an area experiencing some of the states most rapid growth. The sprawl generated by the rapid population growth points to the need to educate local officials about their relationship between individual zoning and other land use decisions and water quaility.
