Microbiology Spring Graduation Ceremony

Each spring semester the department recognizes the graduating Microbiology seniors. Microbiology undergraduates planning on graduating in the spring or summer semesters, as well as those who graduated the previous fall semester, are invited to participate in the ceremony, which is held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the Friday before the spring semester Commencement in one of the lecture halls of the Student Learning Center.  Friends and family of graduating seniors are invited to attend the ceremony.   The format of the ceremony consists of a few opening remarks, some light-hearted entertainment, a brief talk by a distinguished Keynote speaker, and individual recognition of the scholastic and personal achievements of each student in attendance. Students interested in participating in the ceremony are required to complete a questionnaire that can be obtained from Mrs. Monica Matheson in the Microbiology office. The graduation ceremony is followed by an informal reception where students’ families can meet the faculty and staff of the Microbiology department.
