Doug Doblar

Class Standing -

Major - Math, bassoon

Doug is currently majoring in the wonderful field of mathematics, and has studied with both Lisa Lombardo and Julia Jetton (whom he shose to study with since they both have alliterated names like himself) Doug has performed with every major ensemble at UGA, as well as the local Athens Symphony Orchestra.

In the rare moments that Doug is not practicing bassoon or adding up really big numbers real fast ( since that is what math majors do). He also spends alot of time at the Sugar Shack with fellow bassoonist and ladies man, Wes York, as well as at Hill and Oglethorpe Halls, where Doug has been Resident Advisor in the past. He is also a math tutor at Fowler Drive Elementary.

Doug is a member of the Athens Track Club and the Atlanta Track Club, and as his friends tell him, "all he does is run." He has run the Peachtree Road Race nine years in a row, and recently finished the Jacksonville Marathon.

His favorite hobbies include riding around on the contra-bassoon have truck ( but don't tell Doug Moore), raquetball, putting his foot in his mouth, annoying fellow bassoonist Laura Ramsey, (but not nearly as much as fellow bassoonist Wes York does), dominating at badminton, powerlifting, and knitting. Doug hopes to start working towards his Master's Degree at UGA in 2003.
