The formation of The Georgia Cello Society, Inc. took place in 1989. The primary objectives of this organization are to educate the public in the art of cello playing, promote the art of cello playing in Georgia and elsewhere, develop a wider interest in the cello and a more mature understanding of the cello, and to provide performance opportunities for cellists and composers. Georgia Cello Society members are a diverse group, including professional cellists, beginners and intermediate-level players, adult amateurs and professional-track students. Our organization is organized around our events, so enjoyment and participation in the events is the focus.
