Repertoire for preliminaries: Two contrasting works or movements to equal no more than ten
minutes. No concertos, please. You will be disqualified if you play a concerto. All works which
require accompaniment must be accompanied.

The winners of any year's competition are not eligible to enter the following year's competition in
the same age group.

The preliminary judging will be by cassette tapes. Tapes should be clearly labeled with the entrant's
name, grade, and pieces performed.

Tapes must be postmarked by March 20, 2000.

All entrants will be notified as to who the finalists are. Three finalists in each age group will be
chosen to compete live on March 12 at Pace Academy Elementary School. Finalists will perform
ONE of their pieces, not to exceed five minutes. Finalists must provide their own accompanists.
All entrants must be members of The Georgia Cello Society.

All cello society members are encouraged to come hear the finals.
