Giulio Draghi Giulio Draghi is a Brazilian pianist currently in the DMA Piano Performance program studying with Ivan Davis at the University of Miami. He has won several first prizes in Brazilian competitions and developed and appears as a soloist throughout Brazil, Portugal, Italy and Belgium. He also plays regularly with the chief Brazilian orchestras. His repertoire ranges from Bach to Sorabji with a special emphason the Russian composers of the nineteenth century. Since 1992 Mr. Draghi has been a piano professor at the School of Music of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and has been active as artistic director of several musical events in his country. In 2002 he made his conducting debut with Wagner`s Siegfried Idyll in concerts in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. His DMA minor is in conducting. His dissertation project is the preparation of an edition of Liszt`s Faust Symphony as transcribed for piano solo by Carl Tausig. |
