Tropical Breeze is the professional extension of the Steel Drum Band at the University of Georgia. What began in 1986 as a classroom experiment in multi-culural music is now a professional touring group comprised of veteran musicians. The types of music presented by Tropical Breeze cover a wide variety of musical styles, from the typical Calypso and Latin styles to Jazz, Pop, New Age, and Classical. Since its inception, the UGA Steel Band has developed a wide-ranging reputation for exciting, educational, and entertaining performances.
