Traveling to Athens
By Car: Particpants who choose to drive to Athens will have information mailed to them before the Summmer Music Camp directing them to the registration site as well as the Hugh Hodgson School of Music. All participants who are arriving by air or bus need to contact the Summer Camp Office at 706-542-2061 or by email to let the camp know of your travel plans so arrangements can be made.
By Bus: Greyhound services Athens and arrangements can be made to pick up and drop off participants at the bus station.
By Air: Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the largest major airport. It is serviced by all major airlines. Participants can buy a seat on the AAA Airport Shuttle from the Atlanta airport and arrive on the UGA campus at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Arrangements can be made to pick up participants from the Georgia Center location. Participants can also fly direct to Athens through Charlotte on USAir. Arrangements can be made to pick up participants from the Athens airport.

Traveling South to Athens: Follow U.S. 29, GA 106, U.S.441, or U.S. 129 South to Athens. Each Joins GA 10 Loop (Athens Perimeter). Exit at College Station Road (Exit #7) and turn right. Turn right at the second light onto East Campus Road and then left onto Carlton Street. Follow Carlton until the dead end and turn right on Lumpkin Street. Turn left at the first light onto University Court and follow the road around the dorm building and then go directly through light and into the West Campus parking deck. Registration will take place in the parking deck.

Traveling East to Athens: Travel east on U.S. 78 or GA 316 to Athens. If traveling on U.S. 78, exit onto GA 316 East. Turn right onto the Athens Perimeter (GA Loop 10) traveling East (There is a sign for the University of Georgia/Athens By-Pass at the junction of GA 316 and the 10 Loop). After approximately five miles on the Perimeter, exit onto College Station Road (Exit #7). Take a left onto College Station Road. Turn right at the third light onto East Campus Road and then left onto Carlton Street. Follow Carlton until the dead end and turn right on Lumpkin Street. Turn left at the first light onto University Court and follow the road around the dorm building and then go directly through the light and into the West Campus parking deck. Registration will take place in the parking deck.

Traveling West to Athens: Take U.S. 78 West to Athens. In Athens, travel under the Athens Perimeter (GA Loop 10) then take a left at the next traffic light onto the Perimeter going westbound. Exit the Perimeter at the next exit, which is College Station Road (Exit #7). Turn right onto College Station Road. Turn right at the second light onto East Campus Road and then left onto Carlton Street. Follow Carlton until the dead end and turn right on Lumpkin Street. Turn left at the first light onto University Court and follow the road around the dorm building and then go directly through the light and into the West Campus parking deck. Registration will take place in the parking deck.
From West Campus Deck to the School of Music
Exit from the West Campus Deck straight through the traffic light and continue straight through two traffic lights. The street( Cedar Street) dead ends at a traffic light. Bear left at this light onto East Campus Road (not well-marked). Continue 1/5 mile (just past the pedestrian bridge) and turn right under the railroad trestle onto River Road (careful… it is difficult to see!). After about 1 mile, turn right and proceed up the hill into the Hugh Hodgson School of Music/ Performing Arts Center Parking lot. Auditions are held in the building on your left at the top of the hill (marked “Hugh Hodgson School of Music”).
