UGA Networking Information
Support and
Problem Reporting

This Web document contains pointers to University of Georgia (UGA) networking information that can potentially be useful to network support personnel on campus. There are two types of network support roles at UGA -- domain (or administrative) network liaisons (DNLs) and technical network liaisons (TNLs).

DNLs are primarily responsible for managing the network address and name spaces for the campus units they serve and for serving as an initial point of contact for networking problems encountered by their clientele. The responsibilities of the DNL are articulated in the online UGA Domain Network Liaison Handbook. This document also describes the procedures that DNLs need to follow, especially as it relates to name and address space registration. If you wish to search the list of DNLs on campus, please click here. (Note: The DNL list is *only* accessible from UGA authorized network addresses.)

The primary responsibilities of TNLs is to manage the networking infrastructure for their units. (TNLs can and typically do serve as DNLs as well.) The online WWW document UGA Technical Network Liaison Handbook provides information that technical network staff may find useful in supporting their units. Click here if you wish to search the list of TNLs at UGA. (Note: The TNL list is *only* accessible from UGA authorized network addresses.)
