UGA president provides budget update
University of Georgia President Michael F. Adams gave members of University Council an update on UGA’s budget Thursday, Dec. 4 in wake of recent actions by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents to help meet an anticipated directive from state officials to increase the budget cut to 8 percent from the current 6 percent.

Public forum on University Budget

Sixty-three UGA graduates receive top honors

Athens, Ga. – Sixty-three students at the University of Georgia, the largest number ever to qualify, received First Honor Graduation distinctions at the May 12 commencement ceremonies.

UGA began recognizing First Honor Graduates in 1978 instead of designating a graduating senior as valedictorian. The University bestows the honor on students who maintained a 4.00 grade point average throughout their undergraduate studies.
