ATLANTA RESIDENTS URGED TO BE WARY OF MAGAZINE SALES FALSELY ASSOCIATED WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA

ATHENS, Ga. -- The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia announced today that it is not affiliated with a door-to-door magazine subscription sales program that has been taking place in the Sandy Springs area, as well as other suburbs in Atlanta.

Sales representatives of World Wide Circulation, a firm out of St. Clair Shores, Mich., have been falsely claiming that they are UGA Journalism students trying to earn a trip Britain to intern at the British Broadcasting Corporation. Further, the representatives claim to be working under the direction of William E. Lee, professor in the department of
Telecommunications at UGA. The Grady College has no relationship with World Wide Circulation or any other magazine subscription company.

Lee stated, "The very notion that UGA is involved in door-to-door magazine sales is absurd. Consumers should treat these claims as completely bogus."
