Four students in the University of Georgias athletic training program, based in the College of Education, have received national scholarships for the 2003-04 academic year. Kevin Bunn and Chad Hyatt received masters level scholarships, and Tamerah Hunt and Steve Broglio received doctoral level scholarships. The scholarships, among 60 awarded each year by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), are worth $2,000 each. Applicants must have a minimum 3.2 GPA, be sponsored by a certified athletic trainer and be a member of the NATA. Bunn, of Marietta, graduated from UGA in May 2003 with a B.S.Ed. in exercise science with an emphasis in athletic training. He plans to attend graduate school in the fall at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to continue his study of athletic training. Hyatt, of Roanoke, Va., received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in May 2002 and currently serves as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the UGA football team. He will be a second-year masters student in sport studies. Broglio, of Charleston, W.Va., received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He will be a second-year doctoral student in exercise science. Hunt, of Cheltenham, Md., received her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and her masters degree from James Madison University.
