UGA MAIN LIBRARY EMPLOYEES TO REPORT TO WORK MONDAY, AUG. 4

Main library employees are to report to work Monday, August 4, at 8:30 a.m. A meeting will be held in B2 for an information session and to address staff concerns. The target date for re-opening the building to the public is August 18.

The Student Learning Center is open and staffed with reference librarians. The telephone number for the Student Learning Center is 542-7000; the telephone is being answered by library staff.

Reserves
The Reserves desk expects to have material placed on reserve for Fall Semester available by Aug. 18. Faculty encountering problems can e-mail Reserves at mainresv@uga.edu. Access to books on the second floor of the annex building is the only problem now anticipated. Contingency plans for this material are being developed.

Interlibrary Loan
Any Interlibrary Loan (ILL) material received and processed BEFORE the fire can be picked up at the Science Library Circulation Desk. Please check for their hours at 542-4535. NOTE: You will ALREADY have been notified by ILL if there is anything for you to pick up. If you have material from ILL which needs to be returned, please take it to the Science Library and they will see that we get it. The ILL website is working, so if you want to submit new requests, they will be safe. However, we do not know yet when we can send these requests to other libraries. Any requests made prior to the fire that have not been received are also on hold (and safe). As soon as we know whether we will be in our own office or in a temporary location, we will begin processing requests and taking phone calls. Until then, we appreciate your patience during this emergency.

Repository Requests
Currently all services have been suspended until further notice.

Fines/Fees
We encourage you to return materials to the Science Library where you will be able to pay any fines/fees in order to register for Fall semester. Materials can also be returned at the book drop on the Jackson Street (east) side of the Main Library.

Belongings in the Main Library
Some have called inquiring about personal belongings located in carrels. Please know that the building is secure. Please e-mail Danny Bridges at dbridges@uga.edu to set up a time to meet to retrieve belongings.

Finding Library Resources
UGA students, faculty and staff have borrowing privileges at all University System libraries and Emory University.

Please know that UGA and the Library greatly appreciate the university community's understanding and cooperation as we recover from the July 23 fire.
