UGA GRADY COLLEGE DEAN SOLOSKI NAMED PRESIDENT OF ASJMC

ATHENS, Ga. – John Soloski, dean of the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, was installed as president of the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication this week at a conference of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication in Kansas City.

The ASJMC promotes excellence in journalism and mass communication education. A valuable resource for chairs, deans and directors, the association is a nonprofit, educational association composed of 200 journalism and mass communication programs at the college level. The majority of its members are in the United States and Canada, and six international journalism and communication schools have joined the association in recent years.

Established in 1915, the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication provides seven undergraduate majors: advertising, broadcast news, magazines, newspapers, public relations, publication management and telecommunication arts. In addition, the college offers three graduate degrees and is home to the Peabody Awards, one of the premier award programs in broadcasting and electronic media.
