Museum offers special tour


The Georgia Museum of Art will conduct a special Tour at Two on Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. focusing on “Women, Art and Social Change: The Newcomb Pottery Enterprise.” Annelies Mondi, museum deputy director, will lead the tour.

Legion Pool offers cool recreation


UGA’s Legion Pool is open for students, employees and their guests. Pool hours are 3 to 7 p.m. through Aug. 14. Admission is $3 to $5, with season passes available.


Exhibition features Alabama artist
The Georgia Museum of Art is bringing to light the works of a virtually unknown female artist in its exhibition "The Prints of Mary Wallace Kirk," on display through Oct. 12. Kirk, who was born and lived most of her life in Tuscumbia, Alabama, produced finely detailed renderings of the countryside for about a decade, between the 1930s and 1940s. The exhibition features approximately 30 of her works, including watercolors, etched plates and drawings as well as printed etchings.
