Sylvia joined the Office of International Education April 1 st 2008. Prior to being hired as an International Student & Scholar Advisor, Sylvia worked for the State of Georgia as a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in the Career Center in Jonesboro , GA. As a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, she was responsible for career exploration, job development, job placement, personal, individual and career counseling for persons with disabilities. Sylvia is no stranger to the international arena. She comes with 10 years experience working with international students and scholars. She worked at Wayne State University in the Office of International Education. During her tenure, she held several different positions. During her last five years, she worked as an International Student & Scholar Advisor. Sylvia received both of her degrees from Wayne State University . Her master's degree is in Rehabilitation Counseling and her bachelor is in Criminal Justice.
