Transportation

  • UGA Bus Schedule

    The UGA buses provide transportation throughout campus and to a few off campus locations. UGA buses are free to ride for all UGA students, faculty, and staff.

  • Athens Transit

    The Athens bus picks people up and drops people off at locations both on and off campus, depending on the bus number. The ride is free for students with their UGA ID Card. Go to the website for information regarding times, location, routes, and pricing for non-students.

  • Biking & Walking

    This website had information about where safe places to bike are, as well as a listing of stores where you can buy a bike. Also on this website is a map of where crosswalks and safe places to walk are located. There are Athens Clark County bike maps available at bike shops, on campus, at the Athens welcome center, and other locations. The maps are free and show where safe places to bike are, ALWAYS WEAR YOUR HELMET!

  • Mopeds

    In Georgia, mopeds are motor driven vehicles with an engine that does not exceed 50 cubic centimeters (50 cc). Mopeds are not required to have tags, are exempt from vehicle registration, and riders are not required to have a special license for them. Riders must be at least 15 years of age with a valid driver’s license, instructional permit, or limited permit. RIDERS MUST WEAR MOTORCYCLE HELMETS. Moped riders must obey the traffic laws and may not drive on roads where the minimum speed exceeds 35 mph. ReCycle is a local dealer that sells new and used mopeds.   • Escort Van

    On Sunday-Thursday, 6:00 pm – 2:00 am and Friday, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, if you are on campus and need a ride to another part of campus or Milledge Avenue late at night, call 706-542-2000. Use this if you cannot get a night bus. Always make sure that the van is clearly marked with the University of Georgia logo before getting into the vehicle. The website has information on pick-up areas that the van services.

  • AAA Shuttle

    For $45 you can go from Athens to the Atlanta airport, or go from the Atlanta airport to Athens (on-way). The Georgia Center on campus is one of the pick-up/drop-off locations. Go to the website for information regarding times and locations.

  • The Grayhound Bus Line

    Greyhound is a bus line that provides transportation to cities across North America. Their Athens station is located at 220 W Broad Street and the phone number is 706-549-2255. Visit the website for destinations and pricing information.
