International Student/Scholar and Immigration
Services is committed to providing accurate, timely, and well informed
information on federal regulations governing the stay of international students,
scholars, faculty and professional staff at the University of Georgia. By
insuring that the institution operates within federally mandated guidelines
advisors are able to assist non-resident aliens to maintain their proper status
so they remain eligible for all benefits to which they are entitled.
Advisors in the ISSIS are highly trained professionals who are able to balance
responsibility to the institution while providing a safe and confidential
setting where the international community can receive assistance with their
unique and individual needs and concerns.
The advisors in the ISSIS strive to provide a necessary buffer between a
highly complex federal regulatory bureaucracy and the clients they serve. By
doing this ISSIS is able to support UGA’s educational, research and
internationalization goals for the 21st century.
