International Scholar Compliance Fee (ISCF)
In January 2003 The University of Georgia, as required by
the Department of Homeland Security, began using the Student Exchange Visitor
Information System (SEVIS). To cover the additional cost of staffing and work
involved with implementing and running SEVIS, all exchange visitors are required to
pay a compliance fee based on the length of their program.
The University of Georgia has a mandatory fee of $50 for each semester that an international student is enrolled. This fee is included in the estimated costs for yearly expenses indicated on the I-20 and is billed to the student's account at the time of registration. These funds are used solely to provide personnel and resources to assist international students with SEVIS reporting, monitoring, and advisor assistance with applications for student-related immigration benefits. Only students who are *NOT* on University of Georgia documents are eligible for a waiver of the ISCF.
