International Scholar Compliance Fee (ISCF)
In January 2003 The University of Georgia, as required by
the Department of Homeland Security, began using the Student Exchange Visitor
Information System (SEVIS). To cover the additional cost of staffing and work
involved with implementing and running SEVIS, all exchange visitors are required to
pay a compliance fee based on the length of their program.
For visitors who will be here for 6 months or less the fee is $50.00
and for those who will be here 6 months to one year the fee is
$100.00. The ISCF compliance fee must be paid each year
because all records must be continuously monitored and updated during
an exchange visitor’s entire period of stay at the university. The fee can be
paid by U.S. money order, personal check or cashier’s check (no cash or credit
cards) and should be paid during check in with the Office of International
Education upon your arrival to the U.S.
All International Students on F/J visas are responsible for paying the
ISCF fee each semester as part of their mandatory fees. Only students who are
NOT on University of Georgia documents are eligible for a waiver of the ISCF.
