Role of the Office of International Education and the Associate Provost for International
Education
The Associate Provost for International Education and her staff work together to provide services
to faculty related to the development and administration of study abroad programs, exchange programs,
and/or international cooperative agreements, as well as to provide immigration assistance to faculty
and departments wishing to bring international students, scholars, faculty, and staff to campus.
The Office of the Associate Provost International Education also oversees the International Academic
Program Development Fund (IAPDF) grant to assist in the development of international agreements or
programs abroad
Faculty committees administered by OIE advise the Associate Provost on issues pertaining to the
internationalization of the campus, the administration of study abroad and exchange programs, and
international student and scholar issues.
In addition to these services, OIE also houses a Fulbright Campus Representative and oversaw the
creation of the Global Certificate Program at UGA.
