The 24th Annual University of Georgia Study, Work & Travel Abroad Fair
Date: Wednesday, October 15 & Thursday October 16, 2008
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Exhibitors should arrive by 9:00 am to set up.
Place: Rotunda, Student Learning Center
What is the UGA Study, Work & Travel Abroad Fair?
- It is an opportunity for study, work, volunteer, and travel abroad program sponsors from across the country and the globe to display information and pass out brochures on their programs. It is a time for students to see the kinds of options that are available to them, although given the high attendance, it is not the best time for individual advising regarding study abroad.
This Year's Fair:
- Due to construction, this year’s fair will be held on the 4th floor of the Student Learning Center, commonly known as Rotunda. Due to the different configuration of the space available, we have made some changes for this year’s registration.
- This year all exhibitors and programs may register for either one or two days. UGA programs are offered one day at no charge but would pay for the second day. See schedule for table fees.
- Due to the set up of the Rotunda, we are unable to engage in any promises regarding location, proximity to other programs, wall space, or electrical outlets. All exhibitors should be able to profit from the Wireless environment of the Student Learning Center, however.
- All registrations will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Why should study abroad program sponsors register early?
- Space is limited - register early. No late registrations will be accepted.
- A space is not guaranteed. Registration is on a first-come first-served basis.
- Every year, about 2,000 students attend the fair and gather useful information about various international education opportunities.
- Over 20% of UGA study abroad students chose to study abroad on non-UGA programs.
- Over 25% of UGA students study abroad during their college career.
How do study abroad program sponsors register for the fair?
- Registration for the 2008 24 th UGA Study, Work & Travel Abroad Fair opens on June 15 th, and will be closed on September 15 th,. Registration will be accepted until capacity is reached . . . on a first come, first served basis.
- All participants must register online. All programs must submit the registration fee making checks payable to the "Office of International Education." Registration deadline for submission of checks is September 15 th, 2008.
- Registration will close at the end of the business day on Monday, September 15 th, 2008. Due to the configuration of the space, we are unable to take any registration after September 15 th. Any fair materials arriving after September 15 th will be discarded for the same reason.
