Transfer Student Information
If You Have Not Completed Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
If you wish to apply for federal student aid for the academic year in which you plan to enroll at UGA, you should review the UGA Financial Aid Application Process and complete the appropriate academic year FAFSA on the Web. UGA's school code number is 001598.
If You Have Completed Your FAFSA
If you have already completed the FAFSA for the academic year in which you plan to enroll at UGA, but did not list UGA (School code 001598) as one of the schools to receive your information, you need to do the following:
- Access the FAFSA on the Web http://www.fafsa.gov. From the third column of the FAFSA Homepage under the "FAFSA Follow-up" section click on "Add or Delete a School Code" and follow the instructions to add UGA.
HOPE Scholarship
HOPE Scholarship students should refer to the HOPE Scholarship section of this Web site for the specific instructions on completing the Web based HOPE application process (GSFAPPS).
Cancelling Aid At Prior School
If you are transferring to UGA in a Spring or Summer Term and your previous institution awarded you federal student aid for the Spring and/or Summer, you should contact the financial aid office at your previous school to cancel your Spring and/or Summer financial aid Award. We will not be able to award you federal student aid for the Spring and/or Summer until all previously awarded federal aid for the Spring and/or Summer has been canceled.
