The DARS is the student academic record created and maintained by the Office of the Registrar and used by undergraduate students and academic advisors. Unlike a transcript, the DARS is not a definitive document regarding academic progress but rather a tool that students should use in working with their academic advisors.
The DARS provides a list of the student’s courses organized according to the degree requirements for each major, beginning with the Core Curriculum and including courses required for the major, school or college requirements, and University of Georgia requirements. Academic units work with the Office of the Registrar to identify which courses are approved for which areas. Additionally, academic units have the authority to override courses, move courses from one area to another, and waive courses as appropriate.
For more information about the DARS itself, contact the Office of the Registrar. For information about the DARS for a particular major, contact the academic advisor or Undergraduate Coordinator in that department or program.
