PURPOSE
The UGA Academic Advising Coordinating Council (AACC) is a group of faculty and professional staff advisors representing every undergraduate school and college and other related units. During its inaugural year (2002-2003), the
Council decided to undertake an annual campus-wide Fall Workshop for faculty and staff who serve as academic advisors to undergraduate students.
The primary purposes of the Workshop are to:
- provide important information to new and experienced advisors about degree requirements, campus resources, and other issues related to academic advising;
- increase the visibility of
academic advising at UGA and recognize the important
role advisors can play in student success; and
- offer a
forum for faculty and professional staff advisors from
across campus to get to know one another, develop
working relationships, and discuss issues of common
concern.
