OTHER UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF GEORGIA PROGRAMS DIRECTED BY OVPI
The Minority Advising Program was established in 1983 to enhance the academic welfare of minority students in the University System of Georgia. Its goals include the promotion of academic success, development of human potential, and the creation of an environment that fosters the success and retention of minority students.
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia instituted the requirement that each college or university of the system ensure that students obtaining a degree possess certain minimum skills of reading and writing. These skills are referred to as the Regents' Writing and Reading Skills. There are two System-mandated courses in writing and in reading that are designed to meet the Regents' Writing and Reading Skills requirement.
Each institution has an ombudsperson assigned to facilitate transfer of students between System institutions. If you have problems with acceptance of your credit, contact the transfer ombudsperson at the transfer college for help. If the problems cannot be resolved, contact the ombudsperson of the college from which you have transferred.
