The UGA at Oxford Study Abroad Program will celebrate its twentieth
anniversary this July. For much of the past two decades, endowed
scholarship funds have succeeded in giving many worthy
students the opportunity to participate in one of UGA’s most
well-respected study abroad programs. In honor of that milestone, we are asking graduates of the Oxford Program and their families to help support an important project.
In order to celebrate her retirement this year, we have set a goal to complete the $25,000 endowment of the award named in honor of our founder, The Judith Davis Shaw Scholarship Fund. (Click here or on the banner image above to contribute.) We want to offer you the opportunity to help encourage and allow future students to participate in this truly unique study abroad experience while at the same time celebrating Dr. Shaw's career. Gifts of all sizes are needed to meet our goal: $5,000, $500, or $50. A gift that’s significant to you is significant to the Oxford Program.
“As a recipient of a scholarship on the UGA at Oxford program, I feel incredibly grateful. Without the scholarship, I would never have been able to spend a summer abroad, learn from a world-renowned Oxford don, or make such special friendships. Only in Oxford were Mondays the best day of the week,” recalls Claire Rock, Incentive Scholarship Recipient and Grady at Oxford 2008 alumna.
Interest in our Program has grown exponentially, and with that increased interest comes a greater need to help UGA students from all backgrounds. As a community of Oxford alumni, family and friends, we have the opportunity to ensure exceptional students in need of scholarship funds will continue to be able to enjoy this priceless academic and travel experience.
We look forward to receiving your gift.
