Pledge Information

New Business:

- All future pledge meetings have been pushed back to 6:30 instead of 6:15.
- If you have any questions about the process at any time, e-mail me at aherro@uga.edu
- Initiation Night has been set for Thursday, November 13th. Please plan accordingly because you cannot miss this night.
- Big Brother/Little Brother program may be pushed back a week because we have many more pledges that will be joining us at our next meeting. If you are a pledge and would like to select a Big Brother instead of being drawn at random, e-mail me your choice.

What was discussed at the meeting?

Pledge Requirements to be Initiated:
- Must pay dues by September 25th ($70 to Nationals online and $35 our chapter)
- Attend at least 2 socials
- Complete 5 hours of community service (2 hrs. will be a highway clean-up)
- Cannot have more than 2 absences to pledge meetings (I will excuse absences for just causes e-mailed to me in advance only)
- Business casual dress attire to meetings
- Must attend Initiation on Nov. 13th

If you are interested for running for Pledge Class President or Vice-President, a brief speech needs to be prepared on why you think people should vote for you.

President role: Would talk with me before each meeting and discuss activities and business before each meeting. This person will essentially run pledge meetings.

Vice-President role: Plan pledge socials, make sure that everyone is fulfilling their pledgeship requirements, and if President is absent to take over duties.

All pledges then gave a brief introduction about themselves so that everyone could get to know one another.

Pledges were encouraged to stay for the member’s meeting at 7:00 and about 1/3 of the pledge class stayed to observe the meeting and being selecting a Big Brother.
