In the 2005 rankings of masters programs in public affairs published by the U.S. News & World Report, the University of Georgia MPA program was ranked third in the nation from among approximately 250 programs considered. The Georgia MPA has the highest national ranking of any degree program at The University of Georgia.

We continue to enhance our relationship with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, co-sponsor of our MPA Program and an important partner with us in building excellence in public service in Georgia, across the country, and now around the world.

Departmental faculty and students have continued to distinguish themselves with honors and awards. Our doctoral graduates are sought after by the top research universities in the U.S., and sometimes abroad. Recent graduates of our top-ranked MPA program have moved into positions of public-service leadership in many governments in the U.S. and abroad. Three MPA students, for instance, were recently awarded prestigious Presidential Management Fellowships.
