Please see Suzanne Allison in Room 204 for the access code. How do I get a BDAC login? Contact the computer lab administrator, Anoush Ebrahimi. May I use the copier? Fax? The copier and fax are for use by the department's faculty and staff. There is a print and copy center at the Tate Student Center and machines are also available at the main library. There are also copy and fax services available across Broad Street from north campus at Bel-Jean Copy/Print. How do I check out books from the dept. library? There is a sign-out sheet on the shelf next to the glass cabinets in the library. How do I change my tax withholding status? What is the average GRE score of incoming students? GPA? MPA students' average GRE score for Fall 2008: 1218 PhD students' average GRE score for Fall 2008: 1291 Are there any specifically required undergraduate courses that applicants need to have taken to be admitted? There are no specific undergraduate coursework requirements as we accept students from a range of majors. However, we do highly recommend taking introductory courses in American Government, Economics, and Statistics, to help applicants become familiar with this material prior to entering the program. Is a visit a mandatory requirement for admission to the MPA program? Visits are not mandatory but often help prospective students to get an idea of what their surroundings would be if they enrolled here. If you are interested in visiting the Department of Public Administration and Policy, please contact MPA Recruitment Coordinator, Lisa Sperling. Also, if you are interested in taking a tour of the UGA campus as a whole, please contact the UGA Visitors Center at (706) 542-0842. Do I need to apply separately to the Law School if I want to enroll in the MPA/JD program? You will need to apply separately to the MPA program and to UGA Law School. There is a place on the general UGA graduate school application to note that you are applying to two programs concurrently. Students currently in their first year of the MPA program may apply to the UGA Law School and, if admitted, count their current year in the MPA program as the first year in their pursuit of the MPA-JD joint degree. You must attend all orientation and socialization activities and seminars to graduate. Fall orientation dates are announced in May. When are MPA comps? PhD? Exam dates are listed here. Information on assistantships is available here. Where are the student mail folders? GSPA? Student mail folders are located in the grad lounge, room 101X of Baldwin Hall. The GSPA mailbox is under the faculty/staff mailboxes in room 204 of Baldwin Hall. Can I get a PhD through the Gwinnett Center? No. Currently, we offer two courses at Gwinnett each semester. While PhD students are eligible to take these classes, most of the PhD course work must take place in Athens. Do you offer online classes? No. |
