The Ecolab is a self-supporting unit on campus affiliated with the Department of Anthropology. It provides GIS support services for a number of funded research programs, and several courses in the Anthropology Department are taught out of this facility. The Ecolab is an ESRI Authorized Learning Center and offer courses of our own in ArcView and (soon) ArcInfo; continuing education credit is available on request.

The Institute of Ecology, a school within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, offers PhD and Masters programs in Ecology, a Masters and certificate program in Conservation Ecology and Sustainable Development, and an undergraduate major in Ecology.
