The University of Georgia's Daniel B. Warnell School of Forest Resources
is the oldest existing school in the South. Established
in 1906 through an endowment from George Foster Peabody, the School was
originally called the George Foster Peabody
School of Forestry.
Today the Warnell School of Forest Resources
is recognized nationally and internationally as a
leader in forest resources management. Students may become involved in
some of the School's many research projects in forest
production, watershed management, wildlife, fisheries, business,
economics, policy, and genetics.
