Ambassador Andrew Young, the former mayor of Atlanta, was a strategist and negotiator with King during the civil rights campaigns in Birmingham and Selma. He recalled his experience with the civil rights leader during his talk on Jan 23: "Ultimately, he (King) believed that all humans beings had a streak of decency that could be brought forth if you treated them with respect and decency."

The Gym Dogs will compete against the University of Kentucky Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. Tickets are $10, or $6 for youths.
Kurtz to deliver Founders Day Lecture
Paul Kurtz, associate dean for academic and student affairs and J. Alton Hosch Professor of Law Emeritus, will deliver the 2015 Founders Day Lecture Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. The lecture, in recognition of the university's anniversary as the nation's first state-chartered institution of higher education, has become a Founders Day tradition, drawing alumni, students, faculty, esteemed guests and members of the community.
