'Progressive' film festival scheduled
The University of Georgia's People Over Profit group will sponsor a Progressive Film Festival at 8 p.m. Tuesday and the same time Jan. 22 in the movie theater at Tate Student Center.
Films in the first session include ''McLibel,'' a British film about a lawsuit involving McDonald's, and ''Deadly Embrace,'' which explores the effect of World Bank policies on Nicaragua's people.
Jan. 22 screenings will include ''This Is What Democracy Looks Like,'' an inside look at what went on in Seattle during the 1999 protests against World Trade Organization meetings there, and ''Baraka,'' a 1992 film exploring places that have escaped commercialization.
