Our alumni serve in professional positions on University faculty and in various government and research agencies across the country and the world. As ambassadors from our graduate program, these individuals have made us very proud and have strengthened our reputation in the discipline. Most of our graduate students plan to pursue a career as part of a university faculty, but given the diversity of our program offerings, including the new Masters in International Policy, an applied
degree shepherded by the Department of International Affairs, many of
our students will not only be studying political phenomena, but will
also be involved in political decision-making across the globe. Our
Joint Ph.D. and M.A. programs, as well as the M.I.P. give our graduate
program the capacity to rigorously train scholars and practitioners of political science and international affairs.
The Departments of Political Science and International Affairs are committed to helping students reach their ultimate professional goals.
Our departments provide information on available positions in academia,
assist in the development of a placement file, assist in the preparation
for job talks and interviews, and we facilitate the recruitment process
in general for our students.
Our students have a strong record in terms of their placement. Often thisplacement is determined by the student's goals and needs. Our Ph.D.s hold academic positions at Research I institutions as well as prestigious liberal arts institutions and everything in between. Some work in government or the private sector. Below you will find the listings of students who havecompleted our graduate program and their current status.
