Assistant
to the President
Mary
McDonald joined the Office of the President at the
University of Georgia in April 2005. She serves as
Assistant to the President, and is responsible for
the areas of external affairs and campus programs.
Prior to joining the president's staff, Mary was
the Assistant Director of Development in the School
of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, where
she worked to secure funding from alumni, corporations
and foundations. She also
served on the Executive Committee and the Board of
Directors for Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity.
Mary began her career at Agnes Scott College, working in Annual Giving, Records
and Research and Stewardship. She later took a position
at Georgia State University as Director of Donor
Relations. Mary received her bachelor’s degree in
English from UGA and her master’s degree in Non Profit
Management from Georgia State University.
Mary, a native Hampton, Georgia, resides in Athens with her husband Marc LaMotte.
