The BioClips competition, which features life sciences-oriented short films, was held at the ELSO conference in Nice last year. Among the entries was a feature on aggregation in Dictyostelium entitled "A day in the life of a social amoeba". (Apparently, they behave considerably better than your average star, which may explain why you don't see much about them in the gossip rags.)
The next BioClips competition is open for submissions, and the winners will be decided at ELSO 2005 in Dresden.
