The 2007 annual meeting of the International Society of Protistologists will be held jointly with the Phycological Society of America. The meeting will be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Providence-Warwick, Rhode Island from 4-9 August 2007. Please check the Society website (http://www.uga.edu/~protozoa/) for travel awards, student awards, and periodic updates about the meeting.

In addition to our symposia and special lectures, the Society is providing support for 3-4 topic-oriented platform sessions. These are to be half-day sessions composed of 8-10 presentations (20 min each), with each session eligible for $1000 to support participants. Individuals interested in organizing a topic-oriented platform session should submit a one-paragraph description defining the topic/theme for the talks, potential and/or confirmed speakers, and an explanation of how Society funds will be used to support the session. Proposals for topic-oriented sessions must be received by the Program Chair before 1 December 2006. Proposal will be reviewed by the Executive Committee, with selection of sessions to receive support made before 1 January 2007.
