At the recent ISOP annual meeting in Warwick, RI, an auction was held to raise money to support students who wish to attend future ISOP meetings. A variety of items were donated, including books, reprints, art work, crafts, and household items. Some individuals chose to donate money instead of something to be auctioned. The total amount raised was $424.00.
These funds are very important for the encouragement of students
(ie future ISOP members and supporters) to attend and present papers at ISOP
meetings! So, if you have any books, reprints, artwork or other items related
to protists and protistologists, especially items of historical interest, or
if you have anything else to donate, including works of art, services,
timeshares, etc, please consider donating them for next year's meeting in
Halifax. You do not have to attend to make a donation. Our goal is to raise
well over $1,000 next year!!
