Academic Affairs

Jere Morehead serves as vice provost for academic affairs, reporting directly to Arnett Mace, senior vice president for academic affairs and provost. As vice provost, Morehead oversees the faculty affairs office and is the liaison between the provost's office and the undergraduate admissions office, student affairs division and the athletic association . He also provides oversight to UGA’s Honors and Foundation Fellows Programs.

During the 2004-05 academic year, Morehead and Vice President for Instruction Del Dunn led a task force that assessed the university’s general education requirements and also explored changes in student learning and ways the university should respond. The task force submitted its report to the Provost in August 2005.  A PDf version of the report is available in the "Initiatives" section of the Provost's Office web site.
