3.02-1 Policy for Smoking, Food or Drink in Classrooms during Academic Classes
University policy prohibits smoking in all classrooms. Smoking is specifically prohibited "in all public classrooms, auditoriums, seminar rooms, elevators, and other designated public areas within buildings. Smoking may be confined to designated public areas if so desired by departments and to individual offices."
Food is prohibited in all classrooms during Academic classes. Drinks are permitted only in spill proof containers.
Implementation:
It is the responsibility of each instructor to require students to comply with this policy. It is also the responsibility of each dean and department head to require the same compliance by all teaching personnel.

3.02-2 Prohibition of Animals in Buildings
Animals are prohibited inside all campus facilities, except in areas where academic pursuits require their presence (e.g., animal science, veterinary medicine, etc.) or in cases where the animal serves a disabled person (e.g., guide dogs).

3.02-3 Smoke-Free Environment
The University of Georgia encourages a "smoke-free" environment within its facilities. Therefore, no smoking is permitted in The University of Georgia buildings, except in portions that will be established by the higher ranking administrators) of the building after obtaining input from occupants in that building.
Implementation:
The higher ranking administrator(s) of a given building is responsible for implementing this policy. Input from occupants of the building must be obtained before making a decision.
